Not in the mood or don't have the time to go shopping? There are plenty of alternatives available today, such as online clothing shops or even renting outfits.

I recently tried Outfittery, which is a clothing box with a personal shopper aimed at both men and women. My husband and I tested it together. In the following lines, I'll share my thoughts on the service, as well as my husband's opinion on the selection for men.

How does Outfittery work?

Outfittery is a fashion box that originally catered only to men but is now available for both men and women. It is commitment-free and delivery is free.

Like its competitor Lookiero, this is a personal shopper service. This means that when you sign up, you'll be asked to fill out a profile questionnaire to determine your style and what you're looking for in the box. This tool will help the personal shopper choose clothing that you are likely to enjoy.

When you receive them, you can try them on and you have 7 days to decide what you want to keep and what you want to return. Returns are free. Once Outfittery receives the returned items, you will be charged for the items you decided to keep!

How does Outfittery's personal shopper select the clothing?

When you sign up, you'll be asked to fill out a questionnaire that helps to determine your preferences and what the Outfittery box can offer you.

This questionnaire will ask you to select outfits that suit you from the options provided in the photos. You will also have the opportunity to indicate if there are certain clothing items you don't wear (brand logos, specific patterns and colours, etc.), as well as your favourite brands and your age group.

Next, you'll be asked to provide details about your physique, specifically:

Depending on whether you’re a man or a woman, you’ll also be asked for your trouser size, shoe size, dress size... as well as your preferred fit (straight, slim, skinny, loose...).

If you have a specific request, you’ll also have the opportunity to specify this before finalising your order. For instance, in my husband’s case, he was able to indicate that he has contact allergies to certain metals.

How does the settlement process work afterwards?

Once you've completed your profile, you have the following options:

• PayPal.

The payment method you choose will be the default option for charging you for any clothes you decide to keep after receiving them. If you need to change this payment method later, that will always be possible.

❗ Please note, to ensure that your payment method is secure, Outfittery will block €100 for twelve hours after it has been validated. The money will not be withdrawn, but you must have this amount available in your bank account.

What sizes of clothing does Outfittery offer?

👨 For men, Outfittery offers outfits ranging from size 36 (XS) to 52 (3XL) with shoes from size 39 to 48, catering to a variety of body shapes.

👩 For women, Outfittery selects clothing from XS to XXL. You will be asked for the width of your trousers (between 26 and 34) and you can specify the length, choosing from 30, 32, or 34 (to avoid alterations!).

📸 You can send photographs of yourself to your personal shopper so they can take them into consideration when picking out your clothes. This is particularly helpful for finding outfits that complement your complexion and highlight your eyes.

This tool can be activated from your profile and turned off whenever you wish. You can also specify if you'd like to skip the delivery of your next box and wait for the subsequent one.

Compared to other fashion boxes, I think that Outfittery's profile questionnaire is very thorough. It really helps to find out what we like. The only other service I've come across that offers such customization options is Little Cigogne, but they only cater to children.

👉 Personally, I have a few curves and I always find it a struggle to find nice clothes in size 18. The outfits suggested by my personal shopper were really lovely and suited me well, highlighting my shape.

This allows you to avoid impulse buys and ensures that you end up with clothes you will truly wear!

The personal shopper service, which selects clothing based on the information in your profile, your specific requests, and feedback from previous boxes, is completely free. Both the delivery and the returns of any items you choose not to keep are also free.

You also have the option to contact your personal shopper by phone, and this service is free of charge. You can even request, again at no cost, a sneak peek of your upcoming box.

Are there any fees for registration?

No, registration is free. However, to verify your payment method, whether it’s PayPal or a debit/credit card, you need to have at least €100 in your bank account. This is because Outfittery will hold this amount for 12 hours to authenticate your payment method.

My Verdict on the Outfittery Box ⭐⭐⭐

Outfittery launched its women's box in May, and I thought it would be a lovely opportunity to try the experience as a couple so we could compare. In June, we both ordered our first boxes, specifying our preferences and needs through the profile questionnaire.

I found this one very thorough and quite precise: I had high expectations when it came to the boxes. They arrived about two weeks later.

The packaging is really top-notch, and the parcel resembles a little suitcase, making you want to open it up right away! The clothes inside are neatly folded and sorted into bundles.

For my part, I only kept one item of clothing from this initial selection, as my wardrobe was already quite full and not everything appealed to me. I really appreciated the ease of returns! My husband kept several items from his box and was very pleased with the overall selection.

We were supposed to receive our next box in September, but I got a shipping notice in August. I had to contact Outfittery to cancel this incorrect shipment over the phone, which took me a bit of time. It's a shame that this can't be done through the website.

We received the September selection a few weeks ago and I’m really happy with it, as it suits me perfectly! I had mentioned to my personal shopper that I was looking for skirts and dresses for autumn-winter, and she truly listened to my needs.
