My Thoughts on JAPHY Pet Food: I Tried It with My Animals!

More than just simple companions, we often see our pets as part of our family. Taking care of them is essential to keep them healthy and to share good times together.

With shop-bought pet food often receiving a bad rap, Japhy offers you an alternative: custom meals prepared specifically for your dog or cat, tailored to their lifestyle, age, and various characteristics to provide exactly what they need.

Having a cat and a dog at home, I tried Japhy, initially for my dog who was quite picky, and then for my cat. Here’s my verdict!

How does Japhy work?

Japhy offers you a subscription that allows you to receive food (kibble and pâté) tailored for your pet, whether it's a dog or a cat, delivered to your home or to a collection point.

What criteria are taken into account?

The initial questionnaire helps to better understand your pet's profile, in order to provide them with a diet perfectly suited to their needs.

You will therefore be asked:

• Its species: dog or cat,
• Its name (to personalise the packaging and make the experience fun),
• Its gender,
• Whether it is sterilised,
• What breed it is (you can include two),
• Its age,
• Its activity level (low, medium, or high),
• Its body type (slim, balanced, or slightly overweight),
• Its weight,
• Its food preferences:
• Dry kibble only or Dry kibble and Pâté,
• Preferred flavours: poultry, fish,

Is it possible to register multiple pets on Japhy?

Absolutely, and this even gives you the right to a discount:

• - 20% discount for two pets,

How does the Japhy subscription work?

After your initial 15-day test, Japhy will prompt you to set up your subscription. If you wish to cancel at this point, that’s completely fine as Japhy has no commitment.

🐶 Your pet receives kibble that is perfectly suited to their lifestyle, characteristics, and preferences, ensuring they stay happy and healthy.

👉 You can also choose terrines, which is what I did for my cat Orion, as he enjoys having them from time to time.

📦 Delivery is available to your home or at a collection point. You can choose a standard frequency:

• Every month,
• Every two months,
• Every three months.

But, if you ever need to move your next delivery date forward or backward, there's no problem at all; just let us know in your client area.

👉 In my case, I had to bring the date forward once because I had taken in another dog at home, and I fed it my dog Nomad’s kibble for a few days. It all went smoothly!

🎉 Each parcel includes a small gift for your pet. This could be a toy, some treats, or even a pâté...

👉 The toys sent are of great quality and the treats are really handy for practising positive reinforcement with my dog!

🍬 As a subscriber, we have the option to add a few additional products before confirming each order. This could include, for example:

• salmon oil,
• pâtés,
• discovery boxes to sample various products...

👉 I sometimes find myself tempted to order some chew sticks for my dog before finalising my order. Unlike the store-bought ones that are made with very harmful materials (like ash and glue), these contain rice, oats, vegetables, and herbs. I give them to my dog with complete confidence!

What sets Japhy apart from the kibble you can buy in supermarkets is the focus on product quality.

What I appreciated about Japhy is the transparency of the brand regarding the recipe ingredients. You can always find out the exact composition of your kibble.

In Japhy’s recipes, you won’t find:

What is the price of Japhy kibble?

Since the price of pet food is determined by various factors, I can't provide you with the exact price you will pay, but I can give you a reference range.

👉 For my 10 kg dog and my 5 kg cat, I pay around R800 and R600 per month, respectively.

If you choose to place a simple order on the online shop, delivery is free for orders over R600 per month and will be made within 72 hours.

• R 3.95 for delivery to a collection point.

🌎 Japhy delivers in mainland France, Corsica, and Monaco. For other destinations, shipping costs vary and will be specified during the final step of the checkout process.

My verdict on Japhy ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

From the moment I decided to have pets at home, it was important for me to take good care of them. So, I bought pet food from the vet or a specialised pet shop.

However, I was never really satisfied with these kibble products that, despite their cost, contained numerous additives and remained very greasy. So, I looked for an alternative, especially for my dog, Nomad, a 5-year-old Shetland Sheepdog, who often has digestive issues.

When I decided to try Japhy, I was pleasantly surprised by the easy ordering process that is done through a questionnaire. The 15-day half-price offer really allows you to test the kibble and see if it’s suitable for your pet.

My dog has absolutely loved Japhy kibble. I transitioned him from his old kibble as recommended by the brand, and everything went smoothly. It's now been 4 months since he's been eating only Japhy kibble, and he’s been getting sick a lot less often. He hasn’t gained any weight, so it seems well-balanced. Moreover, since he’s a long-haired breed, I quickly noticed that his coat has become much silkier, which is a sign of a healthy pet! It’s really reassuring! 😉

A month ago, I started ordering from Japhy for Orion, my 4-year-old European cat that we adopted as a kitten after he was abandoned. He is a difficult cat, as he hunted for food when he was a kitten and generally doesn't like kibble all that much.

I also ordered some salmon oil to drizzle over his kibble, and it worked like a charm! There's nothing left at the bottom of the bowl, and he really seems to enjoy Japhy's products.
