My Review of JAPHY Kibble: I Tested It with My Pets!

More than just companions, we often see our pets as part of our family. Caring for them is essential to keep them healthy and to enjoy quality time together.

Given the less-than-stellar reputation of commercial pet foods, Japhy offers you an alternative: custom meals prepared for your dog or cat, tailored to their lifestyle, age, and various other characteristics, ensuring they receive exactly what they need.

Having a cat and a dog at home, I tried Japhy, initially for my picky dog and then for my cat. Here’s my verdict!

How Does Japhy Work?

Japhy offers you a subscription that allows you to receive customised food (kibble and pâté) delivered to your home or at a pickup location for your pet, whether it's a dog or a cat.

What are the criteria considered?

The initial questionnaire helps to better understand your pet's profile, allowing us to provide a diet that is perfectly tailored to their needs.

You will be asked:

• Its species: dog or cat,
• Its name (to personalize packaging and enhance the experience),
• Its gender,
• Whether it is spayed/neutered,
• Its breed (you can list two),
• Its age,
• Its activity level (low, moderate, or very active),
• Its body condition (underweight, normal weight, or overweight),
• Its weight,
• Its food preferences:
• Kibbles only or Kibbles and Pâté,
• Preferred flavours: poultry, fish,

Is it possible to register multiple pets on Japhy?

Absolutely, and this even entitles you to a discount:

How does the Japhy subscription work?

After your initial 15-day trial, Japhy will offer you the option to set up your subscription. If you wish to cancel at that point, it's completely possible since Japhy has no commitments.

🐶 Your pet receives kibble that is truly suited to their lifestyle, characteristics, and preferences, ensuring they stay happy and healthy.

👉 You can also choose pâtés, which is what I did for my cat Orion who enjoys having some from time to time.

📦 Delivery is offered to your home or at a pickup location. You can choose a regular frequency:

• Every month,
• Every two months,
• Every three months.

However, if you ever need to move your next delivery date forward or backward, not to worry! Just let us know in your customer portal.

👉 For my part, I had to move the date up once because I took in another dog at home and gave Nomad’s kibble to him for a few days. It all went smoothly!

🎉 Each package includes a small gift for your pet. This could be a toy, treats, or even a pâté...

👉 The toys that were sent are of great quality, and the treats are really handy for practicing positive reinforcement with my dog!

🍬 As a subscriber, we have the option to add a few products before confirming each order. These could include, for example:

👉 I sometimes get tempted to order some chew sticks for my dog before placing an order. Unlike commercial ones that are made with very unhealthy materials (ash, glue), these contain rice, oats, vegetables, and herbs. I give them to my dog with complete confidence!

What sets Japhy apart from the kibble you can find at the grocery store is the emphasis on the quality of the ingredients.

What I really appreciated about Japhy is the transparency of the brand regarding the ingredient list in their recipes. You always have the opportunity to know the exact composition of your kibble.

In Japhy's recipes, you won't find:

• emulsifiers,

• indigestible proteins.

Since the price of kibble is determined by various factors, I can't provide you with the exact price you'll pay, but I can give you a reference scale.

👉 For my 10-kilogram dog and my 5-kilogram cat, I pay approximately $60 and $45 per month, respectively.

My Verdict on Japhy ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Once I decided to have pets at home, it was important for me to take good care of them. I started buying their kibble from the veterinarian or specialty pet stores.

However, I was never really satisfied with those kibble brands that, despite their price, contained many additives and remained quite greasy. So, I looked for an alternative, especially for my dog, Nomad, a 5-year-old Shetland Sheepdog, who often has digestive issues.

When I decided to try Japhy, I was pleasantly surprised by the ease of ordering through a questionnaire. The offer of 15 days at half price really allows you to test the kibble and see if it's suitable for your pet.

My dog has loved Japhy kibble. I made the transition from his previous food as recommended by the brand, and everything went smoothly. It has now been 4 months since he has been eating only Japhy kibble and he’s been getting sick much less often. He hasn’t gained any weight, so it seems to be balanced. Plus, since he has a long-haired breed, I’ve quickly noticed that his coat has become silkier, which is a sign of a healthy dog! It’s really comforting! 😉

I also ordered some salmon oil to pour over his kibble, and it worked perfectly! There's none left at the bottom of the bowl, and he really seems to enjoy Japhy products.
