My Thoughts on JAPHY Kibble: I Tried It with My Pets!

More than just pets, we often see our animals as part of our family. Caring for them is essential to keep them healthy and to enjoy good times together.

With shop-bought foods often having a questionable reputation, Japhy offers you an alternative: custom meals prepared for your dog or cat, tailored to their lifestyle, age, and a range of other characteristics to provide exactly what they need.

Having a cat and a dog at home, I decided to try Japhy, first for my fussy dog and then for my cat. Here’s my verdict!

How Does Japhy Work?

Japhy offers you a subscription that allows you to have customised food delivered to your home or to a collection point (kibble and pâté) made specifically for your pet, whether it's a dog or a cat.

What criteria are taken into account?

The initial questionnaire helps to better understand your pet's profile, so that you can provide a diet that is perfectly suited to their needs.

You will be asked:

• Species: dog or cat,
• Name (to customise the packaging and make the experience fun),
• Gender,
• If she or he is desexed,
• Breed (you can input up to two),
• Age,
• Activity level (low, moderate, or very active),
• Body condition (thin, balanced, or slightly overweight),
• Weight,
• Food preferences:
• Kibble only or Kibble and Pâté,
• Favourite flavours: poultry, fish,

Can I register multiple pets on Japhy?

Absolutely, and it even entitles you to a discount:

How does the Japhy subscription work?

After your initial 15-day trial, Japhy will invite you to set up your subscription. If you wish to cancel at that point, that's completely fine as Japhy has no commitments.

🐶 Your pet is getting dry food that is truly suited to their lifestyle, characteristics, and preferences, ensuring they remain happy and healthy.

👉 You can also choose pâtés, which is what I did for my cat Orion, who enjoys having them from time to time.

📦 Delivery is made to your home or a pick-up point. You can choose a base frequency:

• Every month,
• Every two months,
• Every three months.

However, if you ever need to move your delivery date forward or back, it's no worries at all—just let us know in your customer account.

👉 In my case, I had to bring the date forward once because I took in another dog at home and fed it my dog Nomad's kibble for a few days. It all went smoothly!

🎉 Every parcel comes with a small gift for your pet. This could be a toy, some treats, or even a pâté...

👉 The toys that were sent are of great quality, and the treats are really handy for practicing positive reinforcement with my dog!

🍬 As a subscriber, we have the option to add a few products before confirming each order. These might include, for example:

👉 I sometimes find myself tempted to order some chew sticks for my dog before placing an order. Unlike the commercial ones made with very unhealthy materials (ash, glue), these contain rice, oats, vegetables, and herbs. I give them to my dog with complete confidence!

What sets Japhy apart from the kibble you can find in supermarkets is the focus on product quality.

What I liked about Japhy is the transparency of the brand regarding the ingredients in their recipes. You can always find out the precise composition of your kibble.

As the price of pet food is determined by various factors, I can't provide you with the exact price you'll pay, but I can give you a reference range.

👉 For my 10-kilogram dog and my 5-kilogram cat, I pay about NZ$40 and NZ$30 a month, respectively.

If you choose to place a simple order on the e-shop, delivery is free for orders over $30 within a month and will be made within 72 hours.

🌎 Japhy delivers across mainland France, Corsica, and Monaco. For other destinations, shipping costs vary and will be specified at the final step of your order.

My Verdict on Japhy ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

As soon as I decided to have pets at home, it was important to me to take good care of them. So, I bought dry food from the vet or a specialised pet shop.

However, I was never really satisfied with those kibble brands, which, despite their cost, contained many additives and were still quite greasy. So I looked for an alternative, especially for my dog, Nomad, a 5-year-old Shetland Sheepdog, who often has digestive issues.

When I decided to try Japhy, I was initially pleasantly surprised by the ease of ordering, which is done through a questionnaire. The 15-day half-price offer really allows you to test the kibble and see if it's suitable for your pet.

My dog has absolutely loved Japhy kibble. I followed the brand's guidelines for transitioning from his old kibble, and it all went smoothly. It’s now been 4 months since he switched entirely to Japhy kibble, and he’s getting sick a lot less often. He hasn’t gained any weight, so it seems well balanced. Furthermore, since he has a long-haired breed, I quickly noticed that his coat has become much silkier, which is a sign of a healthy pet! That’s really reassuring! 😉

A month ago, I started ordering from Japhy for Orion, my 4-year-old domestic cat that we rescued when he was a kitten after he was abandoned. He's a fussy cat, as he had to hunt for food when he was younger and generally doesn't like dry kibble very much.
