Taking care of yourself on a daily basis is fantastic for both your health and your wellbeing! Beauty boxes are the perfect option for this: they combine surprise and self-care to provide you with truly cozy moments.

Recently, I subscribed to the Prescription Lab box for a duration of 3 months. I wanted to try out this box as it seemed more sophisticated and refined than the others. I'm sharing my thoughts on it in this testimonial article!

What exactly is included in a Prescription Lab box?

In each box, you'll find:

• A product from the P.Lab Beauty brand, developed by Prescription Lab. All P.Lab Beauty items are made with natural ingredients and provided in full size within the boxes.
• 1 product from a prestigious partner brand in full size,
• 2 products from partner brands in travel size, perfect for testing and taking everywhere with you,
• The monthly edition of the magazine "Le Prescripteur", a genuine lifestyle and beauty magazine with over 50 pages.

What types of products can you find in a Prescription Lab box?

👉 Prescription Lab is quite a generalist box. Among the selected products, you'll find:

• Some cleansing products: shampoo, dry shampoo, mask, body wash, conditioner...
• Some products aimed at wellbeing: pillow mist, sleep assistance spray, massage oils,
• Some beauty treatments: moisturising day cream, concealer, hydrating facial care, serum,
• Some makeup (less frequently): mascara, eyeshadow, etc...

Prescription Lab gives you the opportunity to complete a profile questionnaire to provide you with products that suit your needs. While it's not strictly necessary, as the focus is not primarily on makeup but rather on skincare and wellness products for everyday use.

🍂 The products sent are tailored to the current season. In summer, you'll receive UV protective products, while in winter, the brand focuses on nourishing products to protect skin that has been subjected to the cold.

👉 One of the things I loved about subscribing to Prescription Lab is receiving products that I can actually use. Having subscribed to other beauty boxes in the past, I was often disappointed to receive makeup products that weren’t suitable for me, like foundation, eyeshadows, or lipsticks in colours that just didn’t suit me at all... Fortunately, I haven’t been disappointed at all with Prescription Lab in this regard.

It's the perfect way to take your mind off things!

Even though I loved the double box from this summer, I prefer to use a more traditional box as an example, specifically the one from June 2022, so you can get a good idea of what a Prescription Lab box can be like.

In this box, you could find:

• A retail product: the moisturising cream gel from Respire,
• A conditioner from Les Secrets de Loly, themed "Pink Paradise" (which smells amazing!), full-size,
• Some micellar water from Payot, in a miniature size, which I loved using on all my travels this summer,
• A shampoo from Prescription Lab Beauty, which helped my hair withstand the sun and chlorine this summer!

📖 The box also came with the monthly magazine "Le Prescripteur", which I really enjoyed reading on the beach this summer. My friend who was with me even borrowed it!

What is the price of the Prescription Lab box?

Prescription Lab is a bit more expensive than the budget boxes on the market (Blissim, Glowria, My Little box...), but by less than five dollars, and this is because it is positioned in the premium segment. The box offers prestigious products as well as a genuine magazine.

When you sign up, you have three options available to you:

⭐ The preferred option for subscribers is a monthly payment of $20.60 via direct debit, which you can cancel with just one click. It's convenient and allows you to receive your box without having to place regular orders.

You can also choose a 3-month or 1-year subscription. Both options operate like a monthly payment, but the payment is made at the end of the term. Please note, if you don't cancel it by the end of the subscription period, it will automatically renew.

Both of these options reward your loyalty with gifts:

• A free product with a three-month subscription,
• A free box with a 12-month subscription.

👉 For my part, I chose the three-month subscription, which I eventually converted into a monthly subscription at the end of this first quarter. It's very convenient as it allows me to suspend my subscription if I no longer wish to receive the box.

What are the different accepted payment methods?

Prescription Lab accepts credit cards along with Mastercard, Visa, and Visa Electron debit cards. Unfortunately, it is not possible to pay by cheque, direct debit, bank transfer, or Paypal.

Is the delivery of the Prescription Lab box charged?

No, everything is included in the price stated. However, if you would prefer to receive your box sooner, you can choose a tracked delivery, which adds $2.90 to your monthly order cost.

Is there a Prescription Lab gift card? 🎁

• 1 year for $227, plus a free box!

👉 If you’d like to introduce the box to someone, I recommend the two or three-month offer. For a subscription renewal or a lovely gift, you could opt for a year!

My verdict on the Prescription Lab box ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Before Prescription Lab, I had been subscribed to other beauty boxes like My Little Box or Blissim. What made me want to try this one is its more upscale and less childish vibe compared to the ones I had before.

The order was incredibly easy to place: I simply went to the website, selected my subscription, and completed the payment. As I did this at the start of the month, I received the box for the current month.

I did feel a bit disappointed that it wasn't possible to pay via PayPal, as I'm not too keen on entering my credit card details for online payments. However, it was a secure payment, so I didn't have any issues.

First up, I received the June box, which I absolutely loved, both for the products and for its overall presentation. I appreciated that there were two "full-sized products" that I could use every day, as well as some travel-sized items, including a micellar water that I could take with me on holiday.

I then received the July-August double box, which I really loved, especially for the quality of the products provided. What I appreciate about Prescription Lab is that I was actually able to use and test all the products, as they were all suitable for me.

Finally, I really enjoyed reading the magazine that comes with it. It’s a genuine publication with quality articles and features.
