My Thoughts on PRESCRIPTION LAB: The Beauty Box to Try in 2024?

Taking care of yourself on a daily basis is fantastic for both your health and your wellbeing! For this reason, beauty boxes are an ideal option: they combine surprise and self-care to provide you with genuine moments of relaxation.

Recently, I subscribed to the Prescription Lab box for three months. I wanted to try this package as it seemed more sophisticated and refined than the other boxes. I’m sharing my thoughts on it in this review article!

In each box, you will find:

• A product from the P.Lab Beauty brand, developed by Prescription Lab. All P.Lab Beauty items are made with natural ingredients and are provided in full size in the boxes.
• 1 product from a prestigious partner brand in full size,
• 2 products from partner brands in travel size, perfect for testing out and taking with you wherever you go,
• The monthly issue of the magazine "Le prescripteur", a genuine lifestyle and beauty magazine with over 50 pages.

What types of products can you find in a Prescription Lab box?

👉 Prescription Lab is a rather generalist box. Among the selected products, you will find:

• Some cleansing products: shampoo, dry shampoo, face mask, shower gel, conditioner...
• Products dedicated to well-being: pillow spray, sleep aid spray, massage oils,
• Beauty treatments: moisturising cream, concealer, hydrating face care, serum,
• Makeup (less frequently): mascara, eyeshadow, etc...

🍂 The products sent are tailored to the current season. In summer, you will receive UV protective products, while in winter, the brand focuses on moisturising products to protect skin affected by the cold.

👉 One of the things I loved about subscribing to Prescription Lab is receiving products that I can genuinely use. Having subscribed to other beauty boxes in the past, I was often disappointed by receiving unsuitable make-up products: foundation, eyeshadows, or lipstick in colours that didn't suit me at all... Fortunately, I haven't been disappointed at all with Prescription Lab in this regard.

Although I loved the summer double box, I prefer to use a more typical box as an example, specifically the one from June 2022, so you can get a good overview of what a Prescription Lab box can be like.

In this box, we found, among other items:

• A retail-sized product: the moisturising cream gel from the brand Respire,
• A conditioner from Les secrets de Loly, with the "Pink Paradise" theme (it smells absolutely delightful!), full-size,
• A miniature micellar water from Payot, which I loved during all my travels this summer,
• A shampoo from the brand Prescription Lab Beauty, which helped my hair withstand the sun and chlorine this summer!

📖 The box also came with the monthly magazine "Le Prescripteur", which I thoroughly enjoyed reading on the beach this summer. My friend who was with me even pinched it!

What is the price of the Prescription Lab box?

Prescription Lab is a bit more expensive than the budget boxes on the market (Blissim, Glowria, My Little Box...), but by less than five pounds, and this is justifiable as it is positioned as a premium offering. The box features prestigious products along with a genuine magazine.

When you subscribe, you have three options available to you:

⭐ The preferred option for subscribers is a monthly payment of £20.60 via direct debit, which you can cancel with just one click. It's convenient and allows you to receive your box without having to place an order regularly.

You can also choose a 3-month or 1-year subscription. Both options work similarly to the monthly direct debit, except that the payment is taken in one go at the end of the period. Please note, if you do not cancel it at the end of the specified period, the subscription will automatically renew.

These two options reward your loyalty with gifts:

• A free product for the three-month subscription,
• A complimentary box for the 12-month subscription.

👉 As for me, I opted for the three-month subscription, which I ended up converting to a monthly subscription after the first quarter. It's very convenient as it allows me to pause my subscription if I no longer wish to receive the box.

Prescription Lab accepts the Blue Card as well as Mastercard, Visa, and Visa Electron credit and debit cards. Payment by cheque, direct debit, bank transfer or PayPal is not possible.

Is the delivery of the Prescription Lab box chargeable?

No, everything is included in the indicated price. However, if you would prefer to receive your box more quickly, you can choose a tracked delivery, which adds £2.90 to your monthly order price.

My verdict on the Prescription Lab box ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Before Prescription Lab, I had subscribed to other beauty boxes like My Little Box and Blissim. What made me want to try this one is its somewhat more upscale and less childish appeal compared to the others.

The order was incredibly easy to place: I simply went onto the website, selected my subscription, and made the payment. As I did this at the beginning of the month, I received the box for the current month.

I did regret a little that it wasn't possible to pay via PayPal, as I'm not keen on providing my credit card number for online payments. However, it was a secure payment, so I didn't encounter any issues.

I first received the June box, which I really liked, both for the products and its overall presentation. I appreciated that there were two "full-sized items" that I could use every day, along with some "travel-sized" products, including a micellar water that I was able to take with me on holiday.

I then received the double box for July and August, which I really liked, particularly because of the quality of the products included. What I appreciate about Prescription Lab is that I was genuinely able to use and test all the products, as they were all suited to my needs.

Finally, I really enjoyed reading the magazine that comes with it. It's a genuine publication, featuring quality articles and reports.
