My Thoughts on Prescription Lab: The Beauty Box to Try in 2024?

Taking care of yourself on a daily basis is great for your health as well as your mental well-being! For this, beauty boxes are an excellent option: they combine surprise and self-care to provide you with genuine moments of relaxation.

Recently, I subscribed to the Prescription Lab box for a period of 3 months. I wanted to try out this box as it seemed more sophisticated and refined than the others. I’ll share my thoughts on it in this testimonial article!

What exactly is included in a Prescription Lab box?

In each box, you'll find:

• A product from the P.Lab Beauty brand, developed by Prescription Lab. All P.Lab Beauty items are made with natural ingredients and come in large sizes in the boxes.
• 1 product from a prestigious partner brand in large size,
• 2 products from partner brands in travel size, perfect for testing out and easy to take with you wherever you go,
• The monthly issue of the magazine "The Prescriber", a genuine lifestyle and beauty magazine with over 50 pages.

What types of products can you find in a Prescription Lab box?

👉 Prescription Lab is quite a general box. Among the selected products, you'll find:

• Some cleansing products: shampoo, dry shampoo, face mask, shower gel, conditioner...
• Products dedicated to well-being: pillow mist, spray to help with sleep, massage oils,
• Beauty treatments: day cream, concealer, moisturising face cream, serum,
• Makeup (less frequent): mascara, eyeshadow, etc...

🤑 The total value of all these products is at least €60 per box (and often much more), making the Prescription Lab box quite appealing.

Prescription Lab gives you the chance to complete a profile questionnaire to provide you with tailored products. It's not mandatory, especially since it's more about skincare and wellness products for daily use rather than makeup.

🍂 The products sent are suited to the current season. In summer, you'll receive UV protection products, while in winter, the brand focuses on moisturising products to protect skin that has been damaged by the cold.

👉 One of the things I really liked about subscribing to Prescription Lab is receiving products I can genuinely use. Having subscribed to other beauty boxes in the past, I was often disappointed to find makeup products that just didn’t suit me: foundation, eyeshadows, or lipsticks in shades that didn’t work for me at all... Thankfully, I haven’t been let down by Prescription Lab in this regard.

Unlike other beauty boxes that only offer a simple booklet, here you receive a real women's magazine every month, packed with exciting articles, information on cultural happenings, lifestyle tips... While I really enjoyed the summer double box, I think it's better to use a more traditional box as an example, specifically the one from June 2022, so you can get a good idea of what a Prescription Lab box can be like.

In this box, we found, among other things:

• A full-size product: the moisturising cream gel from Respire,
• A conditioner from Les Secrets de Loly, themed "Pink Paradise" (it smells absolutely amazing!), full-size,
• Some micellar water from Payot, in a travel size, which I've loved on all my trips this summer,
• A shampoo from Prescription Lab Beauty, which helped my hair withstand the sun and chlorine damage this summer!

📖 The box also came with the monthly magazine "Le Prescripteur", which I enjoyed reading on the beach this summer. My friend who was with me even pinched it!

What is the price of the Prescription Lab box?

Prescription Lab is a bit more expensive than the budget boxes on the market (Blissim, Glowria, My Little Box...), but by less than five euros, and this can be explained as it is positioned in the premium segment. The box offers prestigious products as well as a proper magazine.

When you sign up, you have three options available to you:

⭐ The preferred option for subscribers is a monthly payment of €20.60 via direct debit, which you can cancel with just one click. It's convenient and allows you to receive your box without needing to place an order regularly.

You can also choose a 3-month or 1-year subscription. Both options work like a monthly payment, except that the payment occurs at the end of the period. Please note, if you don't cancel it at the end of the subscription period, it will automatically renew.

These two options reward your loyalty with gifts:

• A free product with a three-month subscription,
• A complimentary box with a 12-month subscription.

👉 For my part, I went with a three-month subscription, which I ended up converting to a monthly plan at the end of that first quarter. It's really handy as it allows me to pause my subscription if I no longer wish to receive the box.

What payment methods are accepted?

Prescription Lab accepts the credit card as well as Mastercard, Visa, and Visa Electron debit and credit cards. Unfortunately, payment by cheque, direct debit, bank transfer, or PayPal is not available.

Is there a delivery charge for the Prescription Lab box?

No, everything is included in the stated price. However, if you'd like to receive your box sooner, you can choose a tracked delivery, which adds €2.90 to your monthly order total.

Is there a Prescription Lab gift card? 🎁

Do you want to introduce Prescription Lab to a friend, your sister, your daughter, or even your mum? Are you looking to give it as a birthday or Christmas gift to your girlfriend? That's absolutely possible, and Prescription Lab has everything in place to make it easy for you.

I've done a bit of research on the topic, and I'm summarising what I've learned for you.

The first price is €41.20 for a two-month subscription, including delivery. It's a great offer that you won't often find with competitors, who usually only offer subscriptions starting from three months.

It's also possible to subscribe someone to:

• 3 months for €58, saving you 5%,
• 6 months for €111.46, saving you 10%,
• 1 year for €227, with a free box included!

👉 If you’d like to introduce the box to someone, I recommend the two or three-month offer. For a subscription renewal or a lovely gift, you could give a year!

What will it look like?

Prescription Lab offers you three delivery options, allowing you to send your gift in the way that suits you best:

👉 The first option allows you to make an impression by including the gift card in a gift box. This is perfect if you want to present the gift in a tangible way rather than just giving a card. You can either receive it yourself and pass it on or send it directly to the recipient.

📧 If you're in a hurry, you can also send it immediately via email. The advantage is that it's instant: perfect for a last-minute gift!

How to gift a subscription to Prescription Lab?

To do this, simply visit the website and navigate to the GIFT section in the menu that appears. Then, choose the subscription duration and the delivery method. You will then have the option to add a small gift (toiletry bag, jewellery...) at your discretion, depending on your preference and budget.

My verdict on the Prescription Lab box ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Before trying Prescription Lab, I had subscribed to other beauty boxes like My Little Box and Blissim. What made me want to try this one was its slightly more premium and less juvenile vibe compared to the others.

The order was incredibly easy to place: all I had to do was visit the website, choose my subscription, and proceed with the payment. Since I made the order at the start of the month, I received the box for the current month.

I was a bit disappointed that it wasn't possible to pay via PayPal as I'm not keen on entering my credit card number for online payments, but it was a secure payment, so I didn't have any issues.

First of all, I received the June box, which I really liked, both for the products it contained and its overall presentation. I appreciated that there were two "full-size products" that I could use every day, as well as travel-sized items, including a micellar water that I was able to take with me on holiday.

I then received the double box for July and August, which I really enjoyed, especially because of the quality of the products provided. What I appreciate about Prescription Lab is that I was actually able to use and test all of the products, as they were all suited to me.
