Initially, I subscribed to the Lookfantastic beauty box to save some money. I've put it to the test over the past few months, and I’d like to share my thoughts on it!

How Does the Lookfantastic Box Work?

Lookfantastic offers a fairly classic beauty box: it is sent to you monthly, with a subscription for one, three, six months, or a year. The products come from well-known beauty brands, particularly popular in the United Kingdom, which is where the LookFantastic concept originates. Among these, there are some luxury brands, such as Yves Saint Laurent, Valentino, Lacoste...

Each box contains 6 products and an explanatory magazine (in English!) that guides you on how to use them. The contents may include:

• for facial care: moisturiser, makeup remover, serum, concealer... ,
• for body care: cream, shampoo, shower gel, deodorant, perfume...
• for makeup: eyeshadow, lipstick, pencil, mascara...
• for accessories: brush, mirror, cleansing sponge, ...

Therefore, I recommend that as soon as you subscribe, you uncheck the "Automatic Renewal" box in your account to maintain control over it. For this unboxing, I would like to introduce you to the June 2022 box, which is full of colour and was a delightful surprise for me.

First of all, here is a general overview of the box in a video:

🔸 9 blemish patches with salicylic acid from Disciple, retailing at £17.95,

🔸 A travel-sized watermelon body scrub (which smelled absolutely delightful!) from the brand Bubble T, usually priced at £9.45,

🔸 A lovely eyeshadow from Lottie London in the shade "Golden Hour", priced at £6.95,

🔸 Micellar water from Nuxe, infused with rose, travel size, which would normally cost around £7.

🔸 An exfoliating gel for the face from Gatineau, usually priced at £9.45.

👉 In total, thanks to this box which I paid €17 for with my six-month subscription, I have saved nearly £45 and discovered some fantastic products!

Is there a Lookfantastic gift card? 🎁

Unfortunately, Lookfantastic does not yet offer this type of product. This is quite a shame, as a subscription to this box would make a wonderful surprise for your sister, friend, or beauty-loving mum.

However, as there is no customisation questionnaire, you have the option to register someone of your choice by selecting the duration of their subscription and by replacing your delivery address with that of this person.

👉 In this context, a prepaid subscription is quite convenient, but it seems to me that you still need to deselect the automatic renewal in your account settings to prevent it from being renewed.

In 2021, the calendar was priced at £95, placing it in the higher range of beauty calendars. However, this can be justified by the format of the products: they are not samples but rather travel sizes or full-sized products. Inside, there were over £470 worth of products!

My Verdict on the Lookfantastic Box

Before testing the box, the brand Lookfantastic was somewhat unknown to me. Indeed, when people mentioned beauty boxes, I thought of MyLittleBox, Blissim, or Glossybox... However, I was tempted to try this one because the prices of the products on the site were truly appealing. Additionally, there were products that couldn't be found anywhere else.

I subscribed for six months to try out the box. The price is slightly higher than other boxes, but I understood why when I received my parcels: each box contained at least one full-size product. Furthermore, while competitors offer boxes with 5 to 6 products, Lookfantastic guarantees 6. This makes it much more appealing!

I was overall pleased with the products received: they are from well-known brands, some of which I use daily (Nuxe, Caudalie) and are suitable for most skin and hair types, even the most sensitive. However, I did find it a bit disappointing that there isn't a way to customise one’s profile to receive make-up that matches our skin tone, for instance.

I also appreciated the packaging of the sets and the professionalism of the shipping. I was a bit concerned, as this was a company not based in France, but the products are very well packaged and arrive quickly.
