It has hundreds of thousands of subscribers and is often mentioned as a prime example. But does this box really live up to its reputation?

As a cosmetics enthusiast, I have personally subscribed to the Blissim box for the past three months, and I want to share my thoughts with you honestly!

Blissim offers you the chance to receive every month, either at a pickup location or in your mailbox, a beauty box featuring 5 to 6 samples that may include:

• cleansing products: shampoo, body wash, etc…

After signing up for the subscription, you have the option to complete a questionnaire to create your beauty profile. Based on your answers, Blissim will select the most suitable products for you from a changing selection of around fifteen items each month.

Each month, Blissim selects a different theme, which you can find beautifully illustrated on the charming box that contains the products, as well as in the accompanying magazine.

The minimum price for the box is $14.90. This amount covers a box shipped within mainland France, delivered to your home, without tracking or to a pickup point. If you prefer tracking, you’ll need to pay $16.80 per month.

Currently on the Blissim website, you have several options available to you:

• Commit to a 12-month plan and receive the summer double box at the special price of $14.90 instead of $29.80, followed by subsequent boxes at $14.90 per month.
• Subscribe to a no-commitment offer and pay $29.80 for the first box, then $14.90 for each subsequent box.

If you choose the no-obligation plan, your subscription will be automatically renewed each month. However, you have the option to cancel at no cost directly from your account or to pause it.

From the homepage of the site, Blissim positions itself as the number one beauty box in France, which naturally raises expectations!

But the brand is not new… It was founded in 2011 under the name Joliebox, later rebranding to BirchBox, and in 2020 it was renamed Blissim to give it a more international appeal. It is owned by a Franco-American company called Beautycom, which is based in Paris, in the Montmartre district. The CEO is Quentin Reygrobellet, and it is listed on the website société.com:

In addition, the brand has a customer service hotline and takes the time to personally respond to customer reviews on Trustpilot, offering a solution every time.

In a unique offering within the beauty industry, the help section of the Blissim website even allows users to directly contact a pharmacist via message to ask medical questions. This is very convenient if you have uncertainties before purchasing a product, especially in cases of allergies or skin issues.

Finally, the brand understands its rights and obligations and reminds customers on the homepage that they can return items and receive a full refund within 14 days of receipt by contacting customer service. This is in compliance with Article L121-20-12 of the Consumer Code, and it’s nice to see that Blissim takes this very seriously.

My Verdict on Blissim

Before trying the Blissim box for real, I had already heard about it for several years. I have also subscribed to other beauty boxes, so I had high expectations for this so-called number one box in France!

🧡 I signed up for a no-commitment subscription through the website. I was a bit worried that the delivery wouldn’t be tracked, but I was pleasantly surprised to receive my box very quickly, in just a few days. It was a collaboration with the brand Caudalie, whose products I really enjoy. I immediately loved the design of the box, which features a lovely floral pattern, as well as the products included.

💛 Every month, Blissim offers products from top brands that I enjoy testing and sharing with my friends. I filled out my beauty questionnaire to provide Blissim with information about my profile. I have sensitive skin that tends to get red, so some products aren’t suitable for me. Since then, Blissim has taken this into account, and I haven’t received any products that have bothered my skin so far. If that were to happen, I learned from reading other customer reviews that I could contact customer service to exchange the product by explaining my situation, which reassures me!

💙 Sometimes, I do miss the fact that these are miniatures: they aren’t exactly samples, but some subscription boxes, like the Biotyfull box, offer full-size products and that’s pretty nice! However, the price of Blissim remains very appealing.

How to Cancel Your Blissim Subscription?

Two situations are possible:

🔸 You have signed up for a subscription with a commitment

In this case, you need to wait until the end of your commitment period (usually 12 months) to cancel it.

🔸 You signed up for Blissim with a no-commitment offer or your commitment period has ended

You can easily unsubscribe at any time. Just go to your “My Account” section on the Blissim.fr website, then navigate to the “Subscription Management” area in the menu and select the option to “Suspend My Subscription.”

You can suspend it indefinitely or for a period of 1, 3, or 6 months, depending on your preferences. Suspending it for a month can be very convenient if you’re going on vacation abroad, for example! 🌴
