Poiscaille Provides a Dignified Life for Fishermen 🎣

Poiscaille is committed to fairly compensating its partner fishermen, ensuring their work and expertise are valued, allowing them to make a living from their trade.

They are indeed at the helm of very small businesses. There are no more than three fishermen on board their boat, and fishing trips are done during the day, as opposed to the large trawlers that scour the oceans for several days at a time.

The products are fresh! 🧊

Poiscaille uses the carrier Chronofresh and works directly with them to minimise the time between catching the fish and when it arrives at your door.

The maximum is 72 hours, which ensures that the products are exceptionally fresh. Personally, I’ve never found anything this fresh in regular shops, and you can truly taste the difference.

You choose what you order

When you first subscribe, you can already specify your allergies and intolerances.

Then, between 7 PM and 11 PM the day before or the day before that (in the region) of your delivery, you will receive an email inviting you to log in to your Poiscaille customer account to choose the contents of your next box. This means you can decide whether you prefer fish, shellfish, or molluscs, and which specific varieties of each.

For me, it's a big yes!

The difference compared to what you find in supermarkets is undeniable. The flavours are much more pronounced, and the cooked recipes are delicious.

This subscription also allows you to discover new ways to cook, prepare a delicious meal when entertaining, or simply rediscover the joy of enjoying seafood. The flexibility of the subscription really lets you order whenever you want, which is extremely convenient.

The French origin, fair compensation for fishermen, and sustainable fishing are truly what prompted me to give Poiscaille a go, and I wasn't disappointed in that regard either.

One small thing to improve at Poiscaille?

Very happy with Poiscaille, I wanted to gift my sister a subscription for Christmas. However, she doesn't have a drop-off point near her home, which makes it a bit more complicated.

The issue is the same for the Christmas store, which doesn't allow orders to be placed online for collection at pick-up points outside the Paris region. It's a pity, as given the cost of home delivery (14.90 €), I decided to hold off on ordering for this occasion.
