If your dress is short, you could opt for a ¾ wool coat that falls just below it to create a cohesive look. If your dress is long, I would recommend either a short jacket to maintain the proportions of your body and accentuate your waist, or a long, flowy coat that reaches your knees or even lower for a more sophisticated style.
