My Thoughts on Gambettes Box: Are These Tights Finally Up to Standard?

Having received several boxes, I've noticed that most of the tights are of far better quality than those you can buy at the supermarket, for instance.

How often will I receive my Gambette Box?

This is a monthly box. If you are subscribed, the date you receive your box will depend on the delivery method:

• With Colissimo: the box will be dispatched between the 27th of the previous month and the 2nd of the current month,
• With Asendia: you will receive your tights during the first or second week of the current month.

And in summer, will I receive tights as well? 🌞

The production of tights isn't exactly eco-friendly. Frequently delicate and quickly discarded, traditional tights come with a high carbon footprint due to the numerous chemicals involved in their manufacturing.

But that’s no reason to stop wearing skirts or dresses, as Gambettes Box offers you an alternative. The brand provides tights made from leftover threads, thus avoiding waste. These are made from less polluting materials:

🔸 In summer, sustainable and eco-friendly beachwear

The summer clothing on offer is also designed to have a minimal carbon footprint and to protect your health.

♻️ Cotton is 100% biodegradable and grown using organic farming methods. Its production uses ten times less water than conventional cotton.

🚿 The viscose used to make the rest of the garments uses 50% less water compared to conventional viscose. It is also recyclable and biodegradable. The forests that are harvested for its production are sustainably managed, and the producers receive fair compensation.

After conducting surveys, the brand found that a significant portion of the items received by its subscribers was quickly discarded (the cardboard, the accompanying leaflet...). As a result, it made arrangements to reduce the pollution caused by its packaging.

Finally, with the "Free your legs" programme, Gambettes Box is actively combating street harassment, which affects nearly 80% of women. Their initiative is clever: in partnership with the organisation "Stop Street Harassment", the brand has installed mirrors at leg height in Paris, Amsterdam, and Hamburg to encourage women to take photos of themselves and feel proud to show off their legs.

My verdict on the Gambettes box ⭐⭐⭐⭐

As a true fan of dresses and skirts, I didn't think twice about trying out the concept offered by Gambettes Box when I heard about it. Every winter, I buy quite a few pairs of tights from supermarkets or clothing stores. And I go through a lot of them!

I found the subscription process to be very straightforward. I appreciated that there was only one price and no commitment involved: this makes the subscription very simple and convenient.

My first Gambettes box - September 2021

When it comes to quality, I am really happy with most of the tights I've received. Some of the sheer styles (20 denier weave) tend to snag a bit quickly, but that's to be expected with this type of very delicate tights.

In the end, for R16.50, I often get two pairs of tights that last me several months and are really unique. The brand's commitment to ecology also convinced me, and I'm really pleased to do my bit for the planet by ordering fewer tights!

Gambettes box - January 2022

The only thing I’m not completely happy with is the summer box offering, which includes some beachwear. Since I’m a size 46, the clothes that are sent don't fit me properly. In fact, the maximum size is a 42 (which is closer to a small 44)!

I tried to contact Gambettes Box to find out if it was possible to get a larger size. It took me a while (more than a week) to receive a polite but negative response. What a pity! As a result, I have to put my box on hold for the summer... Fortunately, this option is available!
