My Thoughts on GAMBETTES BOX: Are We Finally Getting Quality Tights?

Like me, are you eagerly awaiting autumn to bring out your lovely skirts and dresses paired with tights? If so, you’re likely familiar with the challenge of finding tights that are pretty, comfortable, and durable for the winter season.

Just over a year ago, after trying on hundreds of pairs of tights throughout my life, I discovered the Gambettes box. Are these tights of good quality?

Having received several boxes, I've found that most of the tights were of far better quality than those you can buy at the supermarket, for instance.

The tights from Gambettes box are designed in Paris and made in Italy, ensuring customers receive a high-quality and durable product. The aim is to prevent the disposal of countless pairs of tights each year.

How often will I receive my Gambette Box?

This is a monthly box. If you're a subscriber, the date you receive your box will depend on the delivery method:

• With Colissimo: the box will be sent between the 27th of the previous month and the 2nd of the current month,
• With Asendia: you will receive your tights in the first or second week of the current month.

Will I also receive tights in summer? 🌞

What is it about?

The term beachwear literally means "beach clothing". It refers to outfits to wear in summer, during holidays. In the Gambette box, this corresponds to items such as:

Here too, the sizes range from S to XL, which corresponds to clothing sizes 34-36 to 42.

In this case, you can pause your box for this duration. This is particularly useful if, like me, the sizes offered don't suit your body shape.

🔸 Healthy and Planet-Friendly Materials

The production of tights isn’t the most eco-friendly process. Often delicate and quickly discarded, traditional tights have a high carbon footprint due to the many chemicals used in their manufacturing.

But that's no reason to stop wearing skirts or dresses, as Gambettes Box offers an alternative. The brand provides tights made from leftover yarn, helping to reduce waste. These materials are more eco-friendly:

🔸 In summer, opt for sustainable and eco-friendly beachwear

The clothing offered in summer is also designed to have a minimal carbon footprint and to protect your health.

♻️ Cotton is 100% biodegradable and grown using organic farming methods. Its production uses ten times less water compared to conventional cotton.

🚿 The viscose used in the rest of the garments uses 50% less water than standard viscose. It is also recyclable and biodegradable. The forests sourced for its production are sustainably managed, and the producers are paid fairly.

🚢 These materials arrive by ship rather than by plane, which means their environmental impact is significantly lower.

🔸 Eco-friendly packaging

After conducting surveys, the brand found that a significant portion of what it sent to its subscribers was quickly discarded (the cardboard, the included pamphlet...). It has therefore taken steps to reduce the pollution caused by its packaging.

🔸 The Fight Against Street Harassment

At last, with the programme "Free your legs", Gambettes box is actively tackling street harassment, which affects nearly 80% of women. Their initiative is clever: in partnership with the "Stop street harassment" association, the brand has set up knee-height mirrors in Paris, Amsterdam, and Hamburg to encourage women to take photos and proudly show off their legs.

For every photo shared with the #freeyourlegs hashtag on social media, Gambettes box has committed to donating €3 to the organisation Stop Street Harassment.

My verdict on the Gambettes box ⭐⭐⭐⭐

As a genuine fan of dresses and skirts, I didn’t hesitate for long to give the Gambettes Box concept a go when I first heard about it. Every winter, I end up buying loads of tights from supermarkets or clothing stores. And I wear them all the time!

I found the subscription process to be really straightforward. I appreciated that there was just one price and no commitment involved: it makes the subscription very simple and convenient.

My first Gambettes box - September 2021

When it comes to quality, I am really happy with most of the tights I’ve received. Some of the finer styles (20 denier weave) can sometimes snag a bit quickly, but that's to be expected with such delicate tights.

In the end, for NZ$16.50, I often get two pairs of tights that last me for several months and are really unique. The brand's commitment to environmental sustainability also convinced me, and I'm very happy to do my bit for the planet by ordering fewer tights!

Gambettes box - January 2022

The only thing I'm not entirely happy with is the summer box assortment, which includes beachwear. As I wear a size 46, the clothes that are sent are not suited to my size. In fact, the maximum size is 42 (or a small 44)!

I tried to get in touch with Gambettes box to see if it was possible to get a larger size. It took me a while (over a week) to receive a polite but negative response. What a shame! As a result, I have to put my box on hold for the summer... Thankfully, this option is available!

✅ In summary, I definitely recommend the Gambettes box for its practicality and originality. The tights are easy to match with everyday outfits, durable, and ethically made. The summer beachwear range looks great, but unfortunately, it's only available up to size 42-44, which is a real shame.
