My Thoughts on LITTLE CIGOGNE, the Kids' Clothing Box

As a parent, choosing clothes for your child can sometimes be a challenge, and I know this all too well with my 7-year-old son, Lucien. Between the hours spent on Vinted searching for second-hand clothes and the complicated trying-on sessions in shops, it's a lot of time that could be better spent having fun and enjoying quality moments as a family.

A few months ago, while discussing these challenges, I was offered the chance to try Little Cigogne, a personal shopping service (similar to Lookiero, La Malle Française, or Clic and Fit), but specifically for kids! Let me share my thoughts on this box and whether I would recommend it to you!

  • Some really lovely and high-quality clothes received,
  • No extra fees for the personal shopping service,
  • Receive complete outfits: incredibly convenient for getting dressed in the morning,
  • The fact that the box is aimed at the child: a fantastic surprise for them!
  • The time-saving benefits of this box,
  • The contact with the personal shopper, Aurélie.

I liked it less

  • Some clothes that aren’t in my son's favourite colours,
  • The price is a bit steep,
  • No option to specify his budget when placing the order.

How Does Little Cigogne Work?

Little Cigogne offers a Personal Shopping service for children aged 6 months to 14 years. This means that you will receive a curated selection of clothes for your child, put together by a stylist, delivered straight to your home as often as you like.

In each box, you will find a total of three complete outfits (top, jacket, and bottoms). You can allow your child to try on these clothes at home in a relaxed setting, and then send back, free of charge, anything that doesn't fit or suit them. You only pay for what you decide to keep!

How does a personal shopper know which clothes to choose?

When you sign up for Little Cigogne, you'll fill out a very detailed questionnaire that will help the stylist better understand your needs. For instance, for my son, I was able to specify:

  • From examples that matched his style,
  • Which colours he liked and which ones he disliked,
  • The brands I usually dressed him in,
  • The patterns he loves (like animals, characters...) and those he prefers less (like checks, polka dots...),
  • Certain items he doesn’t like to wear (like polo necks, hoods...),
  • The fits that suit him best (loose, straight, fitted...)
  • His sizes for tops, trousers, and shoes,
  • My specific needs for this order (e.g., lightweight and durable clothes for summer).

📷 I also managed to send a photograph of my son so that the stylist could see the colour of his hair and eyes, which helped in choosing clothes that would suit him well. He has particularly lovely blue eyes, and wearing that colour really enhances them!

How often do I receive my Little Cigogne box?

Once I completed my questionnaire, Little Cigogne offered me several options for the frequency of receiving my box:

  • A single box with no commitment, to give it a try! (with a delivery charge of €6.95),
  • A box every two months or every three months (with free delivery).

👉 Once you receive the box, you can open it with your child and let them try on the clothes. You can choose which items to keep and send back the rest. The returns are free and can be done in an envelope provided with the box, within 7 days. You will only be charged for the clothes you decide to keep!

❌ Not happy with anything? You can return everything for free!

Who is the Little Cigogne box for?

Little Cigogne is a box designed to relieve parents! By sending a curated selection directly to their homes, it allows them to:

🔸 Get free advice from a professional stylist,

🔸 Easily find essentials for their child's everyday needs,

🔸 Refreshing their son’s or daughter’s wardrobe,

🔸 Save yourself a lot of time by spending less time in shops!

Little Cigogne is the ideal solution for parents of children aged 6 months to 14 years who want to avoid the hassle of shopping, while allowing their child to enjoy the fun of dressing up. The arrival of each trunk is a delightful surprise for the whole family!

How much does a Little Cigogne trunk cost?

Unlike other personal shopping services (for adults) that I've tried, Little Cigogne doesn't charge stylist consultation fees. This means that if you return all the clothes for free, you won't have to pay anything.

If you opt to try a one-off box with no commitment, you'll pay a €6.90 delivery fee. Otherwise, delivery is free for subscribers!

The clothes that Little Cigogne sends in its boxes cost between €10 and €30, and each box contains 3 outfits. This brings the price of the box to between €150 and €250.

🤑 If you keep all the clothes offered, you’ll get a 30% discount on the total, which is a fantastic deal. It’s almost like getting a complete outfit for free!

Can I give a Little Cigogne subscription as a gift? 🎁

Little Cigogne doesn't currently offer a gift card for a subscription, but the site does have an alternative: a gift box that can be chosen for a child. The site provides three options, which can be tailored based on whether the child is a girl or a boy:

🌃 A gift box with 2 pajamas for €39.99,

🤱 A newborn box for the first few days at €49.99 (3 items),

👶 A "My First Outfit" gift set priced at €79.99 (5 pieces).

👉 There’s also a referral offer that allows both you and your referee to enjoy a €10 discount. To take advantage of this offer, you need to log into your account, then go to the "My Info" section, followed by "Referrals", where you can access a form to send invitations to your potential referees via email or social media. The €10 discount is activated once your referee places their first order.

What’s in a Little Cigogne Parcel?

Are you unsure about ordering from Little Cigogne and would like to get a glimpse of a trunk? Have a look at what it looks like in this video:

This unboxing allows us to see:

  • 📦 What does a parcel look like and how are the clothes sent,

  • 💲 What the document showing the clothing prices looks like,

  • 👕 What "3 outfits" really means,

  • 👖 What to expect when ordering a Little Cigogne box...

In my experience, I was pleased with the packaging quality of the products as well as the selection of clothing I received. I appreciated that the prices of the clothes were clearly visible as soon as I opened the parcel, so I didn’t have to search for them. This allowed me to quickly set aside any items that were too expensive or that I didn't like enough for the price.

Get Ready for Back to School with the "Back to School" Capsule Collection!

For the back to school 2022, Little Cigogne has teamed up with Fresk to offer stylish and durable backpacks for school. The outcome is fantastic, featuring vibrant designs that kids are sure to love.

This collaboration also offers some daily essentials for schoolchildren: water bottles, insulated lunch boxes, raincoats, and rubber boots. As for me, I'm seriously thinking about ordering a raincoat and matching boots; the result is simply delightful!

My verdict on the Little Cigogne box

💙 Since I subscribed to Little Cigogne, I've received 3 boxes for my son, one every two months. This frequency, which was fine to begin with, is a bit too often for my liking, so I think I'll switch to 4 times a year, which means once every three months.

🧡 Generally speaking, I'm very happy with the clothes I receive. They suit both my son's tastes and my own. The questionnaire when you sign up is quite detailed, and it's easy to provide feedback to your personal shopper through the website, letting them know why you liked or didn't like certain items.

💛 I also appreciate the practicality of the site and how easy it is to use. Accessing information is a breeze, which saves us time. The concept of the box itself also provides a valuable time-saving benefit. We go shopping less often, and most importantly, it's much more relaxed! My 7-year-old son isn’t a fan of changing rooms, so it’s much nicer for him to try on outfits at home in peace, especially since the box is designed just for him.

💜 The only thing I slightly regret is the price: on average, I only keep one or two outfits from each box, as it quickly adds up and is a bit steep for my budget. I wish I could specify on the website that I don't want any clothing items over 20 euros, unless it’s a coat, for example.

For me, Little Cigogne is a very handy solution for easily finding new outfits for my son! I only wish the clothing offered was a bit less pricey, so I could keep more or order more often! Nevertheless, I’m delighted that the service is completely free if we decide not to keep any of the clothes.
