My Thoughts on Little Cigogne, the Children's Clothing Box

As a parent, choosing clothes for your kids can sometimes be a challenge, and I know this all too well with my 7-year-old son, Lucien. Between the hours spent on Vinted searching for second-hand clothes and the tricky fitting sessions in stores, it often feels like a lot of time is wasted that could be better spent having fun and enjoying family moments.

A few months ago, when I was discussing these challenges, I was offered the chance to try out Little Cigogne, a personal shopping service (similar to Lookiero, La Malle Française, or Clic and Fit), but for kids! Let me share what I thought of this box and whether I recommend it!

💖 I absolutely loved it

  • Complete customisation based on your needs and your child's preferences,
  • Some really nice and high-quality clothes received,
  • No extra fees for the personal shopping service,
  • Receive complete outfits: super handy for getting dressed in the morning,
  • The fact that the box is aimed at the child: a fantastic surprise for them!
  • The time-saving benefit of this box,
  • The contact with the personal shopper, Aurélie.

I liked it less

  • Some clothes that aren't in my son's favourite colours,
  • The price is a bit steep,
  • No option to specify his budget when placing the order.

How Does Little Cigogne Work?

Little Cigogne offers a Personal Shopper service for children aged 6 months to 14 years. This means you receive a curated selection of clothing for your child, tailored by a stylist, delivered right to your door as often as you like.

In each trunk, you'll find a total of three complete outfits (top, jacket, and bottoms). You can try these clothes on at your leisure, at home, on your child, and then simply return, free of charge, anything that doesn't fit. You'll only pay for what you decide to keep!

How does a personal shopper know which clothes to choose?

When you sign up for Little Cigogne, you'll fill out a very detailed questionnaire that will help the stylist better understand your needs. For instance, for my son, I was able to specify:

  • From examples that matched his style,
  • Which colours he liked and which he didn’t,
  • Which brands I usually dressed him in,
  • The patterns he loves (animals, characters...) and those he prefers less (checks, polka dots...),
  • Certain items he doesn’t like to wear (turtlenecks, hoods...),
  • The fits that suit him best (loose, straight, fitted...)
  • His sizes for tops, trousers, and shoes,
  • My specific needs for this order (e.g.: lightweight and durable clothing for summer).

📷 I also managed to send a photograph of my son so that the stylist could see the colour of his hair and eyes, helping her choose clothes that would really suit him. He has particularly beautiful blue eyes, and wearing this colour really enhances them!

How often do I receive my Little Cigogne box?

Once I completed my questionnaire, Little Cigogne offered me several options for how often I'd like to receive my box:

  • A single box without commitment, for you to try! (with a delivery fee of $6.95),
  • A box every two months or every three months (with free delivery).

👉 Once you've received the box, you can open it with your child and let them try on the clothes. You can choose which items to keep and send back the others. The return is free and you'll receive a prepaid envelope with the box, within 7 days. You will only be charged for the clothes you decide to keep!

❌ Not happy with anything? You can return everything for free!

Who is the Little Cigogne box for?

Little Cigogne is a subscription box designed to ease the burden on parents! By delivering a curated selection straight to their doorstep, it allows them to:

🔸 Receive free advice from a professional stylist,

🔸 Easily find everyday essentials for their child,

🔸 Refreshing their son or daughter’s wardrobe,

🔸 Save heaps of time by spending less in-store!

Little Cigogne is the perfect solution for parents of children aged 6 months to 14 years who want to avoid the hassle of shopping, while also sharing the joy of dressing up with their child. The arrival of each parcel is a delightful surprise for the whole family!

How much does a Little Cigogne trunk cost?

Unlike other personal shopping services (for adults) that I've tried, Little Cigogne doesn't charge stylist consultation fees. This means that if you return all the clothes for free, you won’t have to pay anything.

If you decide to try a one-off box, no strings attached, you’ll be charged $6.90 for delivery. Otherwise, delivery is free for subscribers!

The clothing that Little Cigogne sends in its boxes costs between $10 and $30, and each box contains 3 outfits. This means the total price for the box ranges from $150 to $250.

🤑 If you keep all the clothes offered, you’ll receive a 30% discount on the total, which is a fantastic deal. It’s almost like getting a complete outfit for free!

Can I give a Little Cigogne subscription as a gift? 🎁

Little Cigogne doesn't currently offer a gift card for a subscription, but the website has an alternative: a gift box that you can choose for a child. The site provides three options, which can be tailored based on whether the child is a boy or a girl:

🌃 A gift box with 2 pyjamas for $39.99,

🤱 A newborn box for the first days at $49.99 (3 pieces),

👶 A "My First Outfit" set for $79.99 (5 pieces).

👉 There's also a referral offer that allows you and your referred friend to get a $10 discount. To take advantage of this offer, you need to log into your account, then head to the "My Info" section, followed by "Referrals," where you'll find a form to send invitations to your potential referrals via email or social media. The $10 discount is applied once your referred friend makes their first order.

What Does a Little Cigogne Parcel Look Like?

Are you unsure about ordering from Little Cigogne and would like to get a glimpse of a trunk? Check out what it looks like directly in this video:

This unboxing showcases:

  • 📦 What does a package look like and how are the clothes sent,

  • 💲 What the document outlining the prices of the clothes looks like,

  • 👕 What "3 outfits" really means,

  • 👖 What to expect when ordering a Little Cigogne trunk...

For my part, I was pleased with the quality of the product packaging as well as the selection of clothing I received. I liked that the prices of the garments were readily available upon opening the package, without having to search for them, which allows me to immediately set aside the pieces that are too expensive or that I don't like enough for the price.

Get Ready for Back to School with the "Back to School" Capsule Collection!

For the 2022 school year, Little Cigogne has partnered with the Fresk brand to offer trendy and durable backpacks for school. The outcome is impressive, featuring colourful designs that are sure to delight kids.

This collaboration also offers essentials for school students: drink bottles, insulated lunch boxes, rain jackets, and rubber boots. Personally, I'm seriously considering getting a rain jacket and matching boots: the result is just too adorable!

My verdict on the Little Cigogne box

💙 Since signing up for Little Cigogne, I've received 3 boxes for my son, one every two months. While this frequency was okay to start with, it's a bit too often for my liking, so I'm thinking of switching to 4 times a year, which would be once every three months.

🧡 Generally speaking, I'm happy with the clothes I receive. They fit well with both my son's and my tastes. The questionnaire when signing up is very thorough, and it's easy to provide feedback to my personal shopper through the website, to explain why I didn't like certain items.

💛 I also love the practical side of the site and its ease of use. Accessing information is straightforward, which saves time. The concept of the box itself is a real time-saver too. We go shopping less often, and best of all, it’s a lot more relaxing! My 7-year-old son isn’t a fan of fitting rooms, so it’s much better for him to try on outfits in peace at home, especially since the box is designed specifically for him.

💜 The only thing I regret a little is the price: for each box, I typically keep only one or two outfits, as it quickly adds up and gets pricey for my budget. I wish there was an option on the site to specify that I don't want any clothing items over 20 AUD, unless it's for a coat, for example.

For me, Little Cigogne is an incredibly handy solution for easily finding new outfits for my son! I just wish the clothes offered were a bit more affordable, so I could keep more or order more often! However, I'm delighted that the service is completely free if we decide not to keep any items.
