My Thoughts on LITTLE CIGOGNE, the Children's Clothing Box

As a parent, choosing clothes for your child can sometimes be challenging, and I certainly know this with my 7-year-old son, Lucien. Between the hours spent on Vinted trying to find second-hand clothes and the complicated fitting sessions in shops, it feels like we're wasting a lot of time that could be spent having fun and enjoying quality moments as a family.

A few months ago, as I was discussing these challenges, I was offered the chance to try Little Cigogne, a personal shopper service (similar to Lookiero, La Malle Française, or Clic and Fit), but specifically for children! Let me share my thoughts on this box and whether I recommend it to you!

  • Some really lovely and high-quality clothes received,
  • No additional fees for the personal shopping service,
  • Receiving complete outfits: ultra-convenient for getting dressed in the morning,
  • The fact that the box is aimed at the child: a wonderful surprise for them!
  • The time-saving benefit provided by this box,
  • The contact with the personal shopper, Aurélie.

I liked it less

  • Some clothing items that aren't in my son's preferred colours,
  • The slightly high price,
  • No option to specify his budget when placing an order.

How Does Little Cigogne Work?

Little Cigogne offers a Personal Shopper service for children aged 6 months to 14 years. This means that you will receive a curated selection of clothes made by a stylist for your child, delivered directly to your home as often as you like.

In each box, you will find a total of three complete outfits (top, jacket, and bottoms). You can try these clothes on your child at home in a relaxed environment, and then send back, for free, anything that doesn't fit properly. You only pay for what you decide to keep!

How Little Cigogne Works

How does a personal shopper know which clothes to choose?

When you sign up for Little Cigogne, you will complete a very detailed questionnaire that will help the stylist better understand your needs. For instance, for my son, I was able to specify:

  • From examples that matched his style,
  • Which colours he liked and which he didn't,
  • Which brands I usually dressed him in,
  • His favourite patterns (animals, characters...) and those he liked less (checks, polka dots...),
  • Some items he disliked wearing (roll necks, hoods...),
  • The fits that suit him best (loose, straight, fitted...)
  • His sizes for tops, trousers, and shoes,
  • My specific requirements for this order (e.g. lightweight and durable clothing for summer).

📷 I was also able to send a photograph of my son so that the stylist could see the colour of his hair and eyes, helping her to choose clothes that would complement him. He has particularly beautiful blue eyes, and wearing that colour really enhances them!

How often do I receive my Little Cigogne box?

Once I had completed my questionnaire, Little Cigogne offered me several options for how frequently I would like to receive my box:

  • One box with no commitment, to try out! (with a delivery charge of £6.95),
  • A box every two months or every three months (with free delivery).

👉 Once you receive the box, you can open it with your child and let them try on the clothes. You can choose which ones to keep and return the rest. The return is free and will be done using an envelope provided with the box, within 7 days. You will only be charged for the items you decide to keep!

❌ Not happy with anything? You can return everything for free!

Who is the Little Cigogne box aimed at?

Little Cigogne is a subscription box designed to relieve parents! By sending a curated selection directly to their homes, it allows them to:

🔸 Enjoy free advice from a professional stylist,

🔸 Easily find essentials for their child's daily life,

🔸 Refreshing their son's or daughter's wardrobe,

🔸 Save time by spending less of it in shops!

Little Cigogne is the perfect solution for parents of children aged 6 months to 14 years who want to avoid the hassle of shopping, while also sharing the joy of dressing with their child. The arrival of each box is a delightful surprise for the whole family!

How much does a Little Cigogne trunk cost?

Unlike other personal shopping services (for adults) that I have tried, Little Cigogne does not charge stylist consultation fees. This means that if you return all the clothes for free, you won't have to pay anything.

If you choose to try a unique box with no commitment, you will pay £6.90 for delivery. Otherwise, delivery is free for subscribers!

The clothing that Little Cigogne sends in its boxes costs between £10 and £30, and each box contains 3 outfits. This brings the price of the box to between £150 and £250.

🤑 If you keep all the clothes offered, you will receive a 30% discount on the total, which is very advantageous. That nearly gives you a complete outfit for free!

Can I gift a Little Cigogne subscription? 🎁

Little Cigogne does not yet offer a gift card for subscriptions, but the site provides an alternative: a gift trunk of your choice for a child. There are three options available, which can be tailored depending on whether the child is a girl or a boy:

🌃 A gift box containing 2 pyjamas for £39.99,

🤱 A newborn box for the first days at £49.99 (3 items),

👶 A "My First Outfit" gift set priced at £79.99 (5 pieces).

👉 There is also a referral offer that allows both you and your referee to receive a £10 discount. To take advantage of this offer, you need to log into your account, then navigate to the "My Info" section, followed by "Referrals", where you can access a form to send invitations to your potential referees via email or social media. The £10 discount applies as soon as your referee places their first order.

What Does a Little Cigogne Parcel Look Like?

Are you unsure about ordering from Little Cigogne and would like to get a glimpse of a trunk? Take a look for yourself in this video:

This unboxing lets you see:

  • 📦 What a parcel looks like and how clothes are sent,

  • 💲 What the document detailing the prices of the clothes looks like,

  • 👕 What "3 outfits" actually means,

  • 👖 What to expect when ordering a Little Cigogne trunk...

From my perspective, I was pleased with the quality of the product packaging as well as the selection of clothing I received. I appreciated that the prices of the garments were immediately visible upon opening the parcel, without needing to search for them. This allows you to set aside any items that are too expensive or that you do not like enough for the price straight away.

Get Ready for the New Term with the "Back to School" Capsule Collection!

For the 2022 school term, Little Cigogne has partnered with the Fresk brand to offer stylish and durable backpacks for school. The outcome is impressive, featuring colourful designs that are sure to delight children.

This collaboration also offers daily essentials for schoolchildren: water bottles, insulated lunch boxes, raincoats, and rubber boots. Personally, I'm seriously considering ordering a raincoat and matching boots: the outcome is absolutely delightful!

Can we trust Little Cigogne, or is it a scam?

Little Cigogne is owned by the similarly named simplified joint-stock company, which has a considerable history in the box subscription sector, having been established in 2012. It is a French company, located in Seine-et-Marne and led by Mathieu Waltzer.

The company places great importance on customer satisfaction, as it is active on social media, responding to questions posed on these platforms and also taking the time to reply to reviews left on Trustpilot.

She can be reached via a telephone customer service, which allows for an immediate solution in case of any issues. Finally, the site offers a very comprehensive FAQ that provides numerous answers to common questions.

Finally, there is no financial commitment. You can cancel or pause your subscription at any time after receiving your first box. You will only receive boxes when you want them.

My verdict on the Little Cigogne box

💙 Since subscribing to Little Cigogne, I have received 3 boxes for my son, one every two months. This frequency, which was fine to begin with, is a bit too much for my liking, so I think I will change to 4 times a year, which means once every three months.

🧡 Generally speaking, I am happy with the clothes I receive. They align well with both my son's tastes and mine. The questionnaire when subscribing is very thorough, and it's easy to provide feedback to your personal shopper through the website to explain why you didn't like certain items.

💛 I also love the practical side of the site and its ease of use. Information is easily accessible, which saves time. The concept of the box itself also provides a valuable time-saving benefit. We go shopping less often, and above all, it's much more relaxing! My 7-year-old son isn't a fan of fitting rooms, so it's much nicer for him to try on clothes in the comfort of our home, especially since the box is tailored directly for him.

💜The only thing I slightly regret is the price: on average, I keep only one or two outfits from each box, as it quickly becomes too expensive for my budget. I would like to be able to specify on the website that I don't want any clothes priced over £20, unless it's a coat, for instance.

For me, Little Cigogne is an incredibly convenient solution for easily finding new outfits for my son! I just wish the clothes on offer were a bit more affordable, so I could keep more or order more often! However, I am delighted that the service is entirely free if you ultimately decide not to keep any of the clothes.
