My Thoughts on GAMBETTES BOX: Are We Finally Getting Quality Tights?

Like me, are you looking forward to autumn so you can wear your lovely skirts and dresses with tights? If so, you must also be facing the challenge of finding tights that are pretty, comfortable, and durable for the winter season.

Just over a year ago, after wearing hundreds of pairs of tights in my life, I discovered the Gambettes box. After receiving several boxes, I've noticed that most of the tights are of much higher quality than those you can buy at the supermarket, for example.

How often will I receive my Gambette Box?

This is a monthly box. If you are a subscriber, the date you receive your box depends on the delivery method:

• By Colissimo: the box will be sent between the 27th of the previous month and the 2nd of the current month,
• By Asendia: you will receive your tights in the first or second week of the current month.

What about summer? Will I also be getting tights? 🌞

But that’s not a reason to stop wearing skirts or dresses, because Gambettes Box offers you an alternative. The brand provides tights made from leftover threads, helping to reduce waste. These are made from more environmentally-friendly materials:

🔸 Eco-friendly and Sustainable Beachwear for Summer

The summer clothing offered is also designed to have a minimal carbon footprint and to keep you healthy.

♻️ Cotton is 100% biodegradable and grown using organic farming methods. Its production requires ten times less water compared to conventional cotton.

🚿 The viscose used to make the rest of the garments uses 50% less water compared to traditional viscose. It is also recyclable and biodegradable. The forests used for its production are sustainably managed, and the producers are fairly compensated.

🚢 These materials arrive by ship instead of by air, so their environmental impact is much lower.

After conducting surveys, the brand found that a significant portion of what its subscribers received was quickly discarded (the cardboard, the attached leaflet, etc.). As a result, they have taken steps to reduce the waste generated by their packaging.

Finally, with the program "Free your legs", Gambettes box is taking an active stand against street harassment, which affects nearly 80% of women. Their initiative is clever: in partnership with the organization "Stop Street Harassment", the brand has installed leg-height mirrors in Paris, Amsterdam, and Hamburg to encourage women to take photos and feel proud to showcase their legs.

My Verdict on the Gambettes Box ⭐⭐⭐⭐

As a true fan of dresses and skirts, I didn't think twice about trying out the concept offered by Gambettes box when I heard about it. Every winter, I buy a lot of tights from supermarkets or clothing stores. And I go through them quite quickly!

I found the subscription process really straightforward. I appreciated that there's just one price and no commitments: this makes the subscription very simple and convenient.

My first Gambettes box - September 2021

When it comes to quality, I’m really happy with most of the tights I received. Some of the sheer models (20 denier weave) do tend to snag a bit easily, but that’s normal for such delicate tights.

In the end, for SGD 16.50, I often get two pairs of tights that last me for several months and are truly unique. The brand's commitment to sustainability also won me over, and I'm really happy to be doing my part for the planet by ordering fewer tights!

Gambettes Box - January 2022

The only thing I'm less satisfied with is the summer box offering, which includes some beachwear. Since I wear a size 46, the clothes that are sent don't fit me properly. In fact, the largest size available is a 42 (or small 44)!

I tried to contact Gambettes box to find out if it was possible to get a larger size. It took me a while (over a week) to receive a polite but negative response. What a pity! As a result, I have to pause my box during the summer... Luckily, this option is available!
